Jacksonville man arrested after being found with marijuana
(AP) A Jackson, Virginia man has been arrested after police say he was found with a small amount of marijuana in his car.
The Richmond Times Dispatch reports that officers responding to a call about a marijuana odor in a vehicle found a car that matched the description of one seen in a traffic stop, but it was not the one where officers found the marijuana.
Jackson police Chief Mark Crain said the man was arrested for marijuana possession after he told officers that he had been arrested and booked on an outstanding warrant.
Crain says the car was pulled over about 3:15 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Interstate 71 and Interstate 89.
A driver told police he saw the car stopped in a parking lot and that he noticed a small black bag hanging out of the car’s driver side window, the Dispatch reports.
Cropers and marijuana plants were found inside the car, Crain says.
The vehicle was towed away from the scene and police will determine if the marijuana was used in the incident.
