New internet marketing startup to take on the Google ad network
New online marketing startup is set to take over Google’s advertising platform.
Albuquerque, N.M.-based internet marketing platform GoDaddy will take over AdSense, the company announced Thursday.
The acquisition is expected to close in March.
GoDaddy will have an existing ad-serving business with around 1,300 advertisers and 400,000 active users, and will add advertising to websites and other digital platforms.
The company said that the new ad-sales company will be headquartered in Albuquerque and will be focused on a range of digital advertising services including advertising for consumer goods, travel, health and more.
The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and will not have a material impact on the company’s operations, GoDaddy said.
GoAdSense was founded in 2011 by three former GoDaddy employees: Ryan Nesbitt, Matt Schulman and Andrew Miller.
They previously held the roles of CEO and co-founder.
